Sensory Playground Equipment
Sensory play equipment gives children something to hear, touch, watch, and move with — the quieter half of a playground that makes it work for children who find noise and speed overwhelming, and for younger children who are not climbing yet.
BDI Play Designs supplies outdoor musical instruments from Freenotes Harmony Park (chimes, marimbas, drums, and bells tuned so there are no wrong notes), tactile and interactive play panels, marble mazes, gears and puzzle panels, communication boards, spinning and rolling equipment that provides vestibular input, and enclosed quiet spaces where a child can step out of the action without leaving the playground.
Sensory equipment is also some of the most inclusive equipment on a site. Nearly all of it works at ground level, so it can be reached from a wheelchair, used seated, or shared side by side by children of different ages and abilities. Occupational therapists routinely ask for vestibular (spinning, swinging) and tactile equipment on inclusive playgrounds for exactly this reason.
Most sensory items are freestanding and can be added to an existing playground without redesigning it. Built to CAN/CSA-Z614 and ASTM F1487; shipped across Canada and the United States.

Outdoor musical instruments made in the United States — product photos are on the way.
Lilypad Cymbals - Freenotes
The Lilypad Cymbals are a set of 10 anodized aluminum discs, each struck with a mallet to give a sweet, bell-like tone. Because every disc sounds a different note, they offer far more range than a drum-kit cymbal and add depth when played alongside other Freenotes instruments. The set comes in green or silver with three mallets, so a few children can play at once. They are part of the Mellow Marsh and Sculptural ensembles. Specifications: Style: Cymbals Notes: 10 discs Material: Anodized aluminum Colours: Green or silver Mallets: 3 Freenotes Harmony Park instruments are made in the United States and built to stay outdoors year-round.
