Playground Spinners & Merry-Go-Rounds
Spinning equipment delivers more play value per square metre than almost anything else on a playground, which is why merry-go-rounds, orbit spinners, standing whirls, and saucer spinners keep showing up on busy school and municipal sites.
BDI Play Designs supplies the full range: classic sit-on merry-go-rounds, ground-level disc spinners that sit flush with the surfacing, standing spinners that reward balance and core strength, cup and capsule spinners for younger children, and swinging-orbit equipment for older kids who want speed.
Several models are genuinely inclusive. Ground-level spinners such as the All-Around and E-Z Spin are wheelchair-transferable or roll-on, so a child using a mobility device can spin alongside their friends rather than watch from the edge — one of the easiest inclusive upgrades to make to an existing playground.
Spinning motion also does real developmental work: vestibular input helps children build balance, spatial awareness, and body control, which is why occupational therapists routinely ask for spinners on inclusive and sensory playgrounds.
All spinners meet CAN/CSA-Z614 and ASTM F1487, with sealed bearings built for Canadian winters. Designed and manufactured in Alberta, shipped across Canada and the United States.

The line is designed to last over 20 years, and nets are made in sections so a damaged part can be replaced on its own. The Typhoon is aimed at ages 5 to 12.
