The Caterpillar Bells are a seven-bell instrument shaped like a caterpillar, designed for early childhood. The anodized aluminum bells are tuned to C major pentatonic, so young children can't play a wrong note.
Four mallets let a small group play together. The Caterpillar can stand alone or join the Butterflies, Flowers and Mushrooms in a garden-themed music area, and it is part of the Metamorphosis Ensemble.
