The Griffin is an 11-note chime with a resonated frame, giving warm, full tones that ring for up to five seconds. Notes overlap as they are played, which gives a layered, 'painting with sound' effect.
It is tuned to C major pentatonic, so every strike fits. At about 79" tall it is one of the taller compact instruments, and it is part of the Weenotes Ensemble.
