Balance & Agility Playground Equipment
Balance and agility equipment turns a playground into a course. Instead of a single destination, children get a route to move through — stepping pods, balance beams, wobble boards, rope traverses, ninja walls, hanging obstacles, and stepping logs strung together so there is always a next challenge.
This is the category that keeps older children and teenagers on site. Ninja-style obstacle runs and agility circuits reward grip strength, coordination, and repetition, and because kids race each other and time themselves, they get used far more heavily than their footprint suggests.
Balance equipment also does quieter work. Low beams, wobble pods, and stepping stones build core stability and proprioception in younger children, and they are among the easiest events to add to an existing playground because most are freestanding and need little clear space.
Events can be installed as a continuous course with directional markings or scattered as individual challenges, depending on the site. All balance and agility equipment is built for commercial use to CAN/CSA-Z614 and ASTM F1487. Designed and manufactured in Alberta, shipped across Canada and the United States.

Giggle Galaxy: Medium-Sized Agility Layout
Giggle Galaxy is a medium-sized Blue Imp agility playground that links a main structure to several connected circuits and ground-level routes. A long overhead rope climber, a ring ladder, a flower-shaped net climber, a sunflower climbing panel and stepping pods keep kids moving, while a low double slide and a high single slide finish the routes. The layout covers about 2,729 sq ft. It is offered with 3.5" or 5" posts and with plastic or steel slides. It is made in Medicine Hat, Alberta, to CSA Z614. Summit Spectrum Playground
Summit Spectrum is a large, inclusive Blue Imp agility playground. A ramp with accessible steps leads up to the decks, so children who use mobility devices can join in, and the layout adds climbing boulders, a log tunnel, round net climbers, overhead ladders and rings, a plank climber and a ground-level play boat. A triple-lane slide and a double slide come off the decks, and the whole layout covers about 3,754 sq ft. It is made in Medicine Hat, Alberta, to CSA Z614. Cedar Pointe
Cedar Pointe is a CedarScape challenge circuit that turns lava-tag play into a nature-themed course. Cedar climbers, balance features, steppers and rope elements are laid out so children can move from one piece to the next without touching the ground. The layout covers about 1,590 sq ft with a perimeter of roughly 141 ft. It is made in Alberta from cedar with steel-core rope and built to CSA Z614. Cedar Summit
Cedar Summit is a Blue Imp play structure in the Rootz style, with a wood-look roof, a butterfly post topper and an Annex H accessibility badge. Blue Imp rates it for ages 5 to 12. Its feature is a large dip slide with an 88" deep dip, alongside a second slide. Children can climb up a cargo net, rock holds or a ring climber, cross a wavy overhead ladder, and swing on a trapeze bar. Stairs with a transfer step and a bench add access and seating. Adventure Junction | Nature Community Playground
A community playground designed primarily for lava-tag and grounders, but with a strong emphasis on nature-themed play, including a GFRC Log Tunnel, Log Steppers, and Cobble Boulder together with leaf steppers, a leaf roof and a brightly coloured butterfly. The 9-foot-high swingset rounds off the design with nearly every form of play - adventure, agility, sliding, swinging, hanging and climbing!
Coast to Coast
Coast to Coast is a Blue Imp agility circuit for ages 5 to 12. It has no decks or slides. It is a ground-level course of upper-body and balance challenges that children can run as a loop. The overhead section includes a ring trail, hanging steppers, rings and grab handles. Wave-shaped ladder walls, curved balance beams, a snake-style balance beam and spring-mounted steppers fill the ground course. A chain-hung swinging bridge sits at one end. Iceline Trek
Iceline Trek is a Blue Imp agility circuit for ages 5 to 12. It has no decks, roofs or slides. It is a course of ground-level and overhead challenges that children can move through as a loop. The overhead section includes a ladder, spiral loops and rings. On the ground there are hanging stepping pods, balance beams, curved benches and a rotating spinner bar. The overall footprint is about 35 x 33 ft (per Blue Imp). It is offered with 3.5" or 5" posts, and is made in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Lynx Loop
Lynx Loop is a compact Blue Imp agility circuit for ages 5 to 12, with an Annex H accessibility badge. It has no slides. It packs climbing, balance and upper-body challenges into a tight loop. There is a rock-wall climber with a chain, loop climbers, curved ladder climbers and a ring overhead. On the ground, stepping pods, balance beams and a peanut-shaped spinning balance pod keep children moving. The overall footprint is about 26 x 31 ft (per Blue Imp). Toonie Track
Toonie Track is a compact upper-body and balance circuit built around a big round overhead ring ladder with a spiral climber rising through the middle. Kids can cross on the overhead rungs, scale the twisting climber, step up on the angled step platforms and finish on the free-swinging glider bar off one side. Blue Imp rates it for ages 5 to 12 and shows it with an Annex H accessibility badge. The overall footprint is about 25 x 23 ft (per Blue Imp). It is offered with 3.5" or 5" posts. Stone Haven brings the adventure of a natural rocky landscape to the playground. Featuring realistic rock formations, log steppers, balance beams, and a crawl tunnel, this nature-inspired layout encourages children to climb, balance, explore, and create their own adventures. Each element offers opportunities for imaginative play while developing coordination, confidence, and physical skills. SteelCore DreamWeaver™
The SteelCore DreamWeaver™ 3, a modern multi-dimensional net climber designed and engineered by BDI Play Designs, includes 4 unique planar-net climbing events, two rock-climbing walls with a suspension bridge crossing between them, and two walls of suspended rubber climbing spheres for a unique challenge. This climber can be functionally linked to the rest of the playground allowing for interconnected grounders and lava-tag-friendly design layouts. The 'With Slide' configuration adds an enclosed stainless-steel tube slide that curves down from the top of the climber, offering children a quick exit after the climb.
CedarScape TimberCube
The CedarScape TimberCube is a 108"-high net climber framed in planed 8x8 cedar timbers with oversized decorative steel brackets. Children climb, crawl and weave through the 20 mm SteelCore nylon rope net inside the cube, choosing their own route up and across. The timbers are finished with a UV-resistant stain, and all hardware is stainless steel. It is made in Alberta and designed to CSA Z614. CedarScape Teepee
The CedarScape Teepee is a 106"-high climber made of three angled cedar logs joined by a 20 mm SteelCore nylon rope web. Children can climb the ropes or the logs, find their own way to the top and back down, and use the space underneath for pretend play. The logs are 10 to 14 inches in diameter, finished with a UV-resistant stain, and joined with stainless steel hardware. It is made in Alberta and designed to CSA Z614. Wave Catchers Duo
The Wave Catchers Duo brings a minimal, modern architectural look to a ninja or agility course. It is part of BDI's SteelCore line, made in Alberta and built to CSA Z614. It comes in three versions: Duo (SC5438), which pairs a junior and a senior piece; Junior Only (SC4545); and Senior Only (SC4544). A site can order the pair together or add just one piece to an existing course. It fits beside other SteelCore rope and agility pieces in a school or park playground. CedarScape Log Jam
The CedarScape Log Jam is a low balance feature made of cedar logs set at crossing angles. Children walk, step and balance from beam to beam, about 30 inches off the ground. The logs are 8 to 11 inches in diameter, finished with a UV-resistant stain and joined with stainless steel hardware. Rope elements use 20 mm SteelCore nylon rope. The CedarScape Log Cabin is a compact climber made of stacked, hewn cedar logs held with powder-coated steel brackets. Children step, climb and balance on the logs, and the cabin shape invites pretend play. The logs are finished with a UV-resistant stain. It is made in Alberta and built to CSA Z614. Lone Peak
Lone Peak is an A-frame rope net climber topped with a snow-capped mountain panel. Children climb up one face and down the other, and it fits in a small space. For a bigger challenge, Triple Peak joins three of these frames together. Blue Imp rates it for ages 18 months to 12 years, and it is IPEMA-certified. CedarScape Balance Beam
Crafted from a single hand-hewn cedar log roughly 10 inches in diameter and 8 feet long, this balance beam is countersunk slightly below finished grade so it sits low, stable, and flush with the surfacing around it. Children step heel-to-toe along its length, building core strength, coordination, and spatial awareness — a confident first challenge for early walkers and a warm-up for older climbers. Rounded ends and a ground-level profile make it easy to approach on its own, and a natural connector between larger CedarScape elements in a nature-themed play circuit.
SteelCore Flying Fin
The SteelCore Flying Fin (SC2552) is a freestanding playground net climber designed and engineered by BDI Play Designs in Alberta, Canada. A 16-foot-wide arch of 5-inch steel pipe leans at an angle to just over 9 feet high, strung with 20 mm steel-core playground rope in a radiating web around a central 3-foot stainless-steel ring. Kids have fun trying to keep their balance as they make their way across the angled net, or use it as a perch point to hang out with their friends, and several children can climb at once. The Flying Fin installs in-ground on concrete pilings and is designed to CSA Z614. Pair it with the SteelCore DreamWeaver™ or SteelCore Typhoon for a complete SteelCore rope-climbing zone.
Apex Rock & Rope
Apex Rock & Rope connects two Apex™ boulders with a rope bridge suspended under a steel arch. Children cross from one summit to the other, testing balance and confidence, and can climb the rocks themselves from several sides. The piece measures 60" high, 60" long and 48" wide. The boulders are cast in Alberta from glass fibre reinforced concrete (GFRC), and the assembly weighs about 6,000 lb. It meets CSA Z614. StoneWood Steppers
StoneWood Steppers look like tree stumps. Children jump, balance and step from one to the next, making up their own routes across a play area. They are cast in Alberta from glass-fibre-reinforced concrete (GFRC) and meet CSA Z614. They come in two sizes, 12" (SW2567) and 24" (SW2569), and can be set at different heights and spacings to adjust the challenge. Quantum Leap is a low, curved climbing panel with a perforated surface and wavy edges. Children climb up and over it, crawl underneath, or use it as a lookout. The Curved Balance Beam swaps the straight line for a sweeping curve, so kids adjust their footing and focus as the path bends beneath them — quietly building balance, coordination, and core control. Built from 2-by-4 rectangular steel tubing on round-steel legs and finished in a durable powder coat, it takes daily traffic in stride. Sized for ages 2–12 in about a 23 ft x 15 ft area.
